Portfolio of Works
Figurative
The human body - whether in a formal pose or in a casual setting - is a most expressive subject. Each figure and each painting has a story of its own ... whether by intent of the artist or by the viewer's elected interpretation. Enjoy!
Rural / Urban Landscapes
From waters to urban rail stations to rural orchards full of fruits ready for picking ... the images become the portal to nature's unlimited wonders.
Florals & Still Life
Florals and Still Life Collection is a composite of images that vary in style and form. Florals include images that are stylized, painterly and lyrical. Still Life are subjects that take on the 'human element' - to express life from a different view point... conversing chairs ?! or shoes & love?!?
Painted Piano Series
The Painted Piano Series is a collection of painted (decorated) pianos. Such painted pianos are found throughout Downtown Denver, Pearl Street in Boulder, and Fort Collins Colorado. Each decorated piano is designed by a project-approved* artist. Tomiko's Painted Piano Series features one of these pianos and loosely replicates it onto the scene of her paintings.
*The Painted Piano Series acknowledges Pianos About Town, a collaborative project between Bohemian Foundation, Downtown Development Authority and the City of Fort Collins (Colorado) Art in Public Places Program for the subject matter. The project brings together project approved artists who design and paint pianos. These painted pianos are placed randomly around town for the community to discover (and play). When available, the designer/artist will be credited.
Eastern Zodiac Animals
"What's your animal?" is the likely question asked of the Eastern Zodiac follower. The Eastern (also referred to as the Chinese) Zodiac is based on a 12-YEAR cycle. Each of the 12 years - within any cycle - corresponds to an animal with its reputed attributes.
Year 2013, for example, is referred to as the Year of the Snake. As such, persons born in the year 2013 (or any of its 12-year-multiples) are said to have such attributes as intelligent, wise, materialistic, calm, courageous etc. "Look Ma, No Hand!" playfully celebrates the Year of the Snake.
